A small number of Windows 7 64 bit installations report the protection check takes much longer to reach the activation dialog than is normal. The cause is an excess of network adapters listed by the operating system, in some cases as many as several hundred.
This is caused by Windows, see explanation here : http://news.softpedia.com/news/Windows-7-Can-Create-New-6to4-Adapters-on-Every-Reboot-135518.shtml
CopyMinder queries each network adapter that the operating system knows about to establish information about the machine it is running on. To reduce the time the protection check takes the redundant adapters can be deleted via the contol panel.
